Jamorama has claimed to be the ultimate guitar learning kit since 2004. Put together by Ben Edwards and a dedicated team of guitar enthusiasts, Jamorama promises to cut through the hype and deliver an outstanding Learn Guitar course at a price that wont place too much strain on your wallet, which we all know is important in the current economic climate. However does the relatively inexpensive price mean the course cant actually deliver all it promises? Well that’s what I set out to discover.
Credit card in hand I popped over to the Jamorama website and purchased my own copy of the Jamorama Learn Guitar Course. Now a lot of the Jamorama ads I see around the internet raise the specter of a possible scam. Well from the word go I can say that it categorically is not. The payment process is handled by Clickbank - a respected online agency for merchants offering digital products, so you can enter your credit card details secure in the knowledge that they won’t fall into the wrong hands; add to that the 60 Day money back guarantee and you can rest assured that if the course doesn’t deliver for you then can have a full refund.
Having made my purchase I was given immediate access to 252 pages spread over 2 ebooks (one beginner one advanced) which you can download to your PC to browse at your leisure. I was immediately struck by the structure of the content. Divided in 44 chapters and containing 148 video examples and exercises so you can hear and see exactly what you should be doing. The lessons are easy to follow and take you through everything you need to know, from identifying the key components of the guitar, through posture to the more advanced guitar styles and tablature reading.
Bonuses
Now this course alone is clearly worth the $39.95 asking price but just in case you had any doubts the Jamorama team have also included a host of free bonuses.
- The pro version of Jayde Musica (an interactive game to teach you have to read music)
- GuitEarIt! (another great piece of software designed to improve your ability to recognise chords from their sound alone).
- Jamorama Metronome - designed to aid your timing, speed and control
- Guitar Tuner Pro Software and an Ebook called ‘How to tune your guitar
- 30 Days Free Access to songpond (I havent actually tried this yet so cant really comment)
Conclusion
I found it really quite incredible how much valuable information is packed into the Jamorama Learning course, especially given the very attractive price (the entire course cost roughly what you’d pay a guitar teacher for a couple of lessons). With 2 core ebooks as well as the excellent bonuses (oh and you also get access to the Jamorama forum where you can pose questions to other guitarists), Jamorama is all the resource a beginner / intermediate guitarist will need to get them up and running. Don’t be fooled by the hype though, the chances are you will not be playing guitar like Eric Clapton by the time you have completed this course, but as a course that will quickly have you mastering the basics and allowing a platform to be built from which you may well be playing like one of the greats then Jamorama is ideal.
